Cordyceps Sinensis has been used for at least 1500 years in Traditional Chinese Medicine and ranks among one of the most widely used medicinal mushrooms in the world today!

Cordyceps Sinensis is a species of fungi that is parasitical by nature, taking as its host several different varieties of ghost moths. It only grows at elevations above 3500 meters and is found on the Tibetan Plateau. Cordyceps is known by several names such as Yarsha Gumba in Nepal and dong chong xia cao, which means "winter worm, summer grass”  in China. In English, it is known as Caterpillar fungus. The Latin name cordyceps literally means "club head", which is undoubtedly a reference to its cane-like shape and sinensis means "from China.”
