Chap Goh Meh is celebrated on the 15th Day of the first month of the Chinese Lunar Calendar and signifies the end of the Lunar New Year celebrations for the Chinese community. Chap Goh Meh is the Chinese version of Valentine's Day. Some of the interesting traditions during this festival is the throwing of oranges in the river by single girls, in the hope that they will have good fortune and a good life. During Chap Goh Meh, there will be lion dances and a beautiful display of fireworks.
